A few did come with bilge pumps, SeaDoo uses one very similar if not the same as the one I used. A bilge pump was usually sold as an option and usually dealer installed. SeaDoo's come with bailers, one is next to the bilge pump in the picture.

ok, yes i know what the bailers are i have had some experience with them before. ok then i will look for a pump all around the inside of the hull, thanks for your input lou

I used Locktite marine silicone seal to attach it to the hull.

If you have a bilge pump it's going to be located behind the motor, it wouldn't make any sense to locate it forward.

The only reason I installed the bilge pump is at times I will leave the ski in the water for a week or more at a time, if you don't plan on leaving your ski in the water you won't need a bilge pump.

Here's where I located to outlet.

We kept our ski's in the water when in vacation. The 2004 GTI would take in some water and we were thinking about installing a pump. Where did you get yours? Does it have a built in float-switch?

Hi Tim,

The pump I got from WCSS, it is self sensing it comes on every 30 seconds and checks for water. Because of this you need to leave a battery tender plugged into shore power our use a solar battery maintainer.

On my ski there was simply no room for a float switch.

I snagged a rule 500 for 38 bucks.
They designate the auto feature as model 25(S)

Question: How is the bailer supposed to work. I have them in my 1998 Sea Doo GTI but it takes on a ton of water and I don't see any water shooting out of it.

The bailers are hooked up to tubes going out near the jet pump. They only work when running. The jet pump acts as a vacuum, and create a suction effect on the tubes, all the way to the bailer tentacles.

Make sure those passages are clear on the hoses, and make sure the bailer tentacles are clear.

Last time I cleaned my ski, I pulled the bailer off the tube, and shot a good amount of hose water thru the lines to clear them out. Also soaked the bailer tentacle pieces in a nice degreaser, as mine were sitting for years. Cleared everything up.

Double check your exhaust cooling system as well. If it's taking on water, you need to find out from where.

Run it on the hose for a couple minutes to test that. Make sure you are properly running on the hose. I'm new here, but have read a couple horror stories of people not doing it correctly.

But running on the hose can identify any possible leaks of the cooling system.

Thanks for the information... To run the Sea Doo from a hose, I'm assuming the ski needs to have some place on the exterior to connect a hose too. Where would I find that connection?
