Maybe someone can assist me with an issue I am having, I have a 1999 GTX limited with 70 hrs. I bought it over the winter and it starts great well today I went to take the ski and my boys out on it for the first time. About 3 minutes into the no wake zone the hi temp warning buzzer came on like anyone I shut it down, I did notice that there was not jet stream out from the back so I got it back to the loading area and to the disappointment of my sons I took it back to the house. I removed the seats and checked the jet pump hoses and all were attached and did not seem to be clogged so I hooked up the water hose and started the ski and turned on the water. It was shooting two good streams of water from the rear of the ski and it did not overheat maintain a 92 degree temperature reading. So my question is can anyone assist me with what may be going on with the ski, or could it of been that because I was in the no wake zone and traveling so slow that the jet pump was not receiving enough water to flow through the engine. Any assistance would be great thank you guys and gals for all that you do.

On the garden hose... you are back flushing the system... so hopefully it pushed out the problem. But, the cool water intake can be plugged. I would remove the hose coming from the jet pump, and to the engine. Then... use compressed air, and blow in both directions, and see if there is a restriction.

If you have sea grass... it's easy to pick some up, and it will just cover the water intake. That will normally just fall out when you shut down the engine.

Dr. Honda thanks for the information by chance can you direct me to the the hoses I need to check, also when I was in the no wake I would just let the engine idle and then give it a little throttle from time to time could that also been the issue. I never really got it out to open it up to see if it would pee.

Removed the hose from the jet pump and engine, blew air through it and they were not plugged. I did notice that when I removed the hose there was water inside them, well put them back on and took it out again and the same issue the hi temp buzzer was going off after about 2 minutes of operation. The temp was at about 110 degrees when the hi temp warning buzzer went off. Anything else that you can think of that might be is issue?

Were you getting water out the pee-hole on the second test? If not... you need to open every hose, and start looking for a plug.

Also... make sure the sender is good. They don't normally fail... but I guess it's possible. It should switch closed at 190 to 210 Deg F.

I removed every possible hose and blew out the system with air and didn't notice any clogs, I did notice that the water regulator valve was not fully seated on top of what appeared to be a round plastic cylinder. So I screwed it down and tightened it, don't know if this could be the issue. I did read in the manual that regulated water but I don't know in what way. Where would the sender be located?
