Hi Guys, I have purchased a 03 GTX 4TEC S/C just before Christmas done 211 hrs and have had no end of problems.
Have had supercharger rebuild done, went OK after that but next ride it just kept dying, communication fault codes coming up, took it to a dealer, he said ECU, so that was replaced, still issues, now DESS key and post have been replaced all connections and wires checked, everything seems good but it is still dying and coming up communication errors P1680,1681,1682 and sometimes P604, any suggestions that I could try or any one had the same issues would like some advice please.

Some advice please

Sounds like instrument cluster communication issue? MPEM communication with instrument cluster is being interrupted? I would check those connectors for corrosion, is this a saltwater operated ski? P604 is memory error, P1680/81/82 are communication error (comm between instrument cluster and MPEM is failing)

I'm also thinking you might have a bad battery, low voltage from a shorted cell can cause electronics malfunctions. I'd probably try another battery if I measured voltage less than 12.5 volts engine off key off.

Just a few ideas until someone else chimes in.

Thanks for the ideas, have 12.56 volts on battery, with no voltage drop through earth and power supply to engine, mpem and ecu. also checked communication cables between mpem and ecu aswell as mpem and dash, no broken or corroded wires. found some terminals that did not appear to be a strong connections so all terminals have been removed one by one from the mpem and ecu and tightened, there was 4 terminals that I was not happy with on the communication side of the ecu so I have replaced terminals that looked bad, communication, power and earth.
just as another thing do the dess post wires have to be exactly the right length, because I did not have new terminals or wont to damage the old terminals when changing the post I left about 2 inches of old cable and joined the new dess .
also thinking that the new aftermarket ignition coils that have been replaced could be causing electrical noise could that cause a shut down with no fault codes

I have merged and then moved your miscellaneous posts to the 4-tec forum. This helps to keep things in order and makes is much easier for you as well as other to follow.

You are welcome to post in the Meet and Greet section, but please use it to introduce yourself, not as a "I need help" location.

Thanks for joining...
