i just bought a 97 gtx replaced the fuel selector valve cleaned all the filters and changed the lines and i am not pumping gas to the carbs also when i put the lanyard on i get all my gauges but when i turn it over i loose all of then and have to remove the lanyard for them to come back are those 2 problems related? or could it be my start/stop switch any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

You may have a dirty DESS post or lanyard. Have tried cleaning the post and key with soap and water? It could be a number of things.

Can you turn the motor over at all?

When you do a fuel system overhaul like you did, it takes a while for fuel to get through all of the lines. Try dumping some premix down the motor and see if she'll fire?

double checked and all are right it sounds like it wants to run but wont i have fuel but not alot would the dess stop it from starting?

If you're not getting solid connection at the DESS it will die when the connection is lost.

It doesnt explain why you're not getting fuel. Does the engine compartment smell like fuel?

Did you rebuild your carbs or just clean them and put back together?
