1999 GTX RFI, A friend wanted me to fix his 96 GTI and on the trailer was his 99 GTX. I fixed the 96 GTI and rode it for an hour at Lake Gaston this weekend. Came back to take out the GTX and it would not do anything. The gauges come on and the ski beeps. When you press the starter switch it beeps again and nothing else happens. Checked all the fuses, and battery connections. Put a different battery in just to mark that off the list. The gauges show MAINT in the the information screen however, the owner said the light had been on and the last person that he took the ski to be worked on told him that it just needed riding. My fear is that it is the module, I jumped the solenoid and it turned over, no power going to the solenoid when you hit the starter switch.

Is there any other tests that I can perform on this ski to rule out anything other than the module. Also, is there anything that can be done about the MAINT light, is there a way the dealer can hook a computer to it and tell what the light is on for? Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Is there anyone that can give me some guidance on this issue. I would like to know if I should just carry this ski to the dealership.

It's hard to say with the info given.

when you put on the lanyard. How many beeps do you get? Then... when you push the start/stop button... who many beeps do you get?

Thanks Doc for your reply, I get a short beep when the lanyard is put on and if I hold the start button for a few seconds I get a long beep.
