I just got a new 2010 Rxt-X 260 out of the box. The first 10 minutes riding it were unbelievable. got it up to about 60 mph.. pull the throttle too hard and it would pull itself right from under me. it was a blast until the maintenace reminder light came on and the message center said "MANTENANCE REQIIRED"---"CHECK ENGINE" (after just ten minutes) The next day, I took it to the dealer and they cleared the fault codes and told me I was running it too hard. I put it back in the water and it will only do 45 MPH at full throttle. The rpms will only go to 6000. It's still fun but it's supposed to have a top speed of 75 mph and it just doesn't seem right (like no supercharger) so it's back to the dealer.
Anyone have any ideas on what is wrong with it. only has about 3 hours on it and I am debating on whether I should stop payment on the check.

any input is greatly appreciated.

if its brand new then bring it back to the dealer. its still under warranty. BTW are you using the learning key at all? that will definatly restrict its speed.

It's Fixed Woo hoo

Just an update...
The dealer found that the hose to the supercharger was disconnected. They fixed it and it works great now.

Catty...glad you got it worked out. Odd that you had the exact same problem as in the other thread. This hadn't seemed to be a common occurance, but guess it should be the first step from now on.

So which hose was it? Intake -> Supercharger -> Intercooler -> Engine?

Not sure which hose

I asked the dealer to show me the hose that was disconnected and they said it would be too much trouble because they would have to remove the intake just to get to it and even then they wouldn't be able to show me. All They told me was it was a hose on the supercharger.

Thanks,
Christine
