Hi all new-used 1997 gtx owner with issues. I bought this ski 14 yrs used and WTF how dare it not run like new HA HA. But here is my problem . Ive gone through the ski doing all thing to get it top noch, plugs, carb clean ,gas lines even new wear ring.compression 130 on both cindelers ect. took it out on our local lake... glass day and im 240 lbs 6-4 in and the top speed WOT was 51MPH is that good for this year-age of my gtx or should I be greedy hopeing that this ski should do 55-60 MPH top speed? Thanks for any adavice any one can give me........
NOW my next and olny other issue with my 1997 gxt. my lcd-info center wont work . everything was fine with it till I took off the 3guage cover that hold the guages in place to look at the speedo on the right side to make sure the wires are hooked up right on the speedo. So of course they where not. now to explane what the problem is.
Looking at my seadoo manual it looks like from the mpem there is a black and a purple wires that go to the back of the rpm guage then the same wires pigtail out of the rpm guage to the speedo and again pigtail out of the speedo to the info guage.....And now my problem-question ......
on the info guage the seadoo wiring diagram shows inside the info guage the black wire is the ground.. red-purple wire is a 12v souce from the mpem 5amp fuse.. and the purple wire is also a 12 volt sourse going back to the mpem.
IS THAT PRUPLE WIRE POWERED BY THE LCD JUMPING POWER FOR THE RED-PURPLE WIRE IN THE LCD---- OR----
IS THE MPEM PURPLE WIRE SEND POWER FROM THE MPEM TO THE RPM GAUGE TO THE SPEEDO THEN INFO LCD CENTER?
The olny way I can get my lcd to turn on is by jumping the red-purple wire in the lcd allways on to the solid purple wire and it truns on. Bit because the red-pruple is allways hot of course it wont turn off but at least it works.... So again after saying all this my problem is the purple wire. where is is souposed to get its 12v power from the mpem to the lcd or is the lcd give power to the purple wire going back through the speedo-rpm guage then down to the mpem..... THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GIVE
