Help... How do I test my coil???

I have a 98 gsx ltd w/ new batt and solenoid, turns over but no spark. How do I test the coil?? Any suggestions??

To truly test the coil... you need a dealer tool that is too expensive for most of us.


BUT....


Between the primary, and secondary side, you should see low resistance. (~0.05 ohm) And, the secondary side, to the end of the park wire should be 9 to 15 ohm's (with the cap, add 4.5 ohm)

Ok thanks I'll try that. Just another dumb question, is the white wire the exciter?

dr honda i would like to check my coil too, i have a 1997 gs should i be looking for the same numbers as you posted in your quote or are the numbers different for my model? Thank You!
