did you check the stuff that people said to look at before? you could have a seal leaking in there causing it to get hot. pull the cover and see whats going on.

Well, I went for a ride today, I took my 96GSX, which has a 787 not a 717. I didn't notice and difference in the temperature of the engine and the temperature of the mag. covdr. The cover might have been slightly warmer but you could comfortably put your hand on the engine as well as the magneto cover. I didn't have an infrared temp. gun but they were both just warm to the touch.

The rotax engine is not over heated unless the temp. reaches over 200 degrees F so if the alarm is not sounding I wouldn't worry about it.

Like Strizzo I have no idea why your magneto cover is getting hot, I would also suggest that you remove the cover and take a look. This is not a problem that I have ever had or ever heard of. If you choose not to follow our advice you should just take it to a dealer and have them check it out.

may is normal

maybe 150 at 170 degrees

but the engine is realy cold

Cuenta, is your Magneto cover a plastic one? I know Seadoo used a plastic cover on some early electronics I just don't know if/when they stopped.

If so it might be taking more of the heat than the aluminum is. Also, if you feeling the cylinders they will be cooler since they are water cooled. If everything looks good, just run it.

Yes, just run the ski, more than likely it is fine. Ive never heard anyone have this problem, and also please refrain from making multiple threads about the same problem as many of these people already gave you good advice on your other post...

The magnito produces a certain amount of heat itself and there is nothing in there to cool that space so yes I would expect it to possible be warmer. Run it and stop obsessing over it.
