GAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
So, here I am prepping my engine compartment for the new engine and I set the carb on the hull, turned around for just a sec, and BANG!:ack: The carb slipped off and broke the PULSE nipple fitting!! <see pic>
Does this nipple screw in there? Is it pressed in? Does Seadoo even make this piece separate?
I'm in deep doo-doo, huh?!? :banghead:

Shade tree? JB weld. thats about as unprofessionally shady as it can get. The tap and barb fitting is a MUCH better idea. Make sure the clearence between the diaphram and the fitting is good. Just a reminder.

The nipple is a press fit into the cover. Use a "easy out" and it will twist out of the cover. Then make the trip to Home Depot.

i had a similar incident when i was replacing my cars fuel pump. I had new one roll off some plastic tarp and fall 3 ft and hit some concrete. it broke the fitting right off... life sucks some times!

Yes it does suck.
Searched for a good 30 mins for a 90 deg., 1/4" O.D., barbed fitting but no luck. :( Instead I went with flexible copper tubing and am going to freeze it for an hour or so to see if it "pops" into the filter housing (thanks Dennis for that info!) Now, I just need to figure out a way to keep the fuel hose on the tubing.
I can't quite barb it or put a nice nipple on it for the hose to "grab" onto.
Any ideas???

JB Weld - hehehehe
Never had much luck with that stuff! Appreciate the input though. You are right about that clearance! Looks like the recess bottoms out about 1/8" down inside.
What a mess!

Put some blue or red loctite on the end of the tubing before you install it in the plate. It will act as a lubricant when you install it and a sealer after it is installed. There isn't much pressure on the pulse hose. If the tubing fits snug on the hose you should only need a screw clamp. Maybe use a little loctite on that end of the tubing too before you install the hose and clamp.

EUREKA, loctite!!! :hurray:
I had a small tube of liquid solder all ready to pop in there, heat it up and permanently install it. Loctite is a MUCH better idea!!!

Seadooya, that is exactly what I was thinking! :agree: All I should need is a slight flare for the hose to grab.
Only problem I'm having now is bending that mall piece of tubing into 90 deg. GRRRRRRRR...
It keeps getting a flat spot in the bed!
