Im on vaca right now and my islandia will only go 14 and won't plane out. I replaced the wear ring and impeller recently. Could the trim plate being too flat cause this? The motor sounds good and I know the pump is good with the exception of a little stator vein damage

We pulled the boat 6 hours and this happens.... Could it be an overloading issue?

Thats what I kept thinking because I have the 12 tine grate, but there are absolutely no weeds stuck in there, at least what I can see

Well... if the engine is spinning, and you have minimal thrust... then either the splines in the impeller are stripped out... or something is stuck in the pump.

A couple weeks ago, I had to disassemble the pump in my Polaris to get a rock out. I couldn't see it from either direction... but I know something was in the pump.

One other thing comes to mind... is your reverse gate opening all the way?

There is some white smoke that dissipates immediately, could this be a power issue even if it's getting to 6k RPM?

It's a 2-stroke... it will smoke. And no... if you are getting to 6k RPM's... then it's something with the pump.

Thank you for the help.

I adjusted the trim plate down so there is approximately 0.5" between the top of the jam nuts and the pump housing. This helped greatly and will now plane.

What is the normal max RPM at WOT? With 12 people (6 children) I was only pulling around 5500 RPM at WOT.
