KILLSHOT

Hi guys so I decided to get a seadoo wake 215 2008 model it was going well the other day but when I decided to go for lunch parked the ski up had lunch came back went to jump on and go the ski didn't do the usual couple beeps and start up I put the dess key on it beeped once woke up the dash pressed the start button and nothing just a quiet humm of the fuel pump. Followed by a couple seconds later a couple fast short beeps tried this a couple times and nothing at all. checked over all fuses everything all was good jumped the starter solenoid and it turns over but no start brought a new batery just in case it wasn't getting enough volts still no change couple days later went out bam did the couple beeps and started up all is well idled it for a bit on the hose turned it off went in side scratching my head came back out couple hrs later put the key on bam back to 1 beep followed by a couple seconds later beep beep beep and nothing just pump priming up and now that's all it does have tried wobbling the dess key still nothing what causes this really want to get this ski back on the water for summer received_911485794883137.jpeg

Adjust the dess post key on the dess post until you get the two beeps. Some of these older skis are notorious for getting the dess post key in the perfect position before you will get the two beeps. Hopefully that’s all it is.

I have tried that for the last few days doesn't seem to make any difference I have however found this which smells like it's burnt out

That’s your diagnostic connector and the terminating cap for it. The cap should attach to the top of the battery holder with connector plugged into the cap. Should not affect if the ski starts or not.

I worked that out that cap has a diod in it smells burnt not sure if that's causing my issue with no start and single beep when I press the start button after inserting the dess fob it beeps once and no start just fuel pump primes and then every 15 seconds it reboots the dash on and off

The key fob is not communicating the right code to the ECM, so no two beeps. So it’s a bad key, post , wiring, or ECM issue. Try another key, clean the post and key, check wiring for corrosion.

That's your diode cap that seadoo used as a bandaid to try to protect the ECU for a few years which didn't really work well. It typically won't run without it if you have an open circuit or it's burnt which opens the circuit. You can use a voltmeter to do a diode test or check for open circuit both directions but if it smells burnt it's probably bad. Did you jump start it, have a loose battery cable, weak battery, or anything other odd electrical event? All of which can cook that diode. Hopefully, your ECU is still okay. Replace it and cross your fingers.

Nah I didn't it was running great then came back and had 1 beep and no start it's smells burnt but tests good I think I may have found the issues the start solenoid is shot no click or clunk and it's testing high volts across both terminals I also have the dash waking up every 18 seconds

It will never start until you get the 2 beeps. Starter solenoid doesn't have anything to do with not getting the double beep.

I think it might be a combination of the start solinoid and the main black rectangle relay iv order both hopfuly that fixes it

If the ski wakes up with one or 2 beeps when you put any key on then the 30A relay is working fine. Skiasylum is on the right track.

It wakes the dash and beeps once primes the fuel pump for second then when I press the start button it does nothing no solenoid click for the starter all it does is continuously prime the fuel pump for as long as I hold the start button I can jump the start solenoid but it won't start on turn over

Until you get 2 beeps, it will not get any spark, so it won't start. The single long beep is either not reading the key properly, wrong key (or thinks it's wrong) or low voltage or a bad post, they have 2 circuits in them and both have to close, a bad ECU, a bad or intermittent wiring connection (push and wiggle the wires on the back of the small fuse panel with the 30A relay to see if it does anything different), or it is a communication problem with the cluster which I don't think you have.
