hi there, long time boater (motor and sail) Looking at buying my first boat of my own. (i'm 31, its terrible i know)

anyway, a 2001 utopia has caught my eye on the local craigslist for 6800. going to look at it tomorrow.

thanks to these forums i'm pretty well aware of the intake grate and possible engine issues. Very interested in any advice that people have too look out for. Tomorrow its going to be on the trailer, so i can se the hull, then if everything goes good, he's going to put it in the water for me for a test drive.

going through the merc forum right now looking for more tips/issues.

ha ha, thats not what i ment, i was referring to the fact that i grew up on the water, and i havn't had a boat in this long.....

Good luck. It sounds like you have checked out the Mercury powered boat section of the forum and know boats overall. Water test it and go with your gut instincts. Good luck!!!
