Call them and ask if they were formerly associated with East Coast Cycle Shop in PA.
If so, I have heard good and bad, much the same as most other engine shops.
I bought a motor about 3yrs ago from ECCS in PA. Motor still runs good. Might be the same people? No Fault warranty is the key to any purchased engine. SBT provides a no fault warranty

What he said....

You can forget to put oil in an SBT engine, or drop a bolt into the carbs.... and when that engine explodes.... they will send you a new one. MOST other shops aren't that easy to deal with.

I'm not a HUGE SBT fan... but the warranty is good.

I have heard very bad things regarding that shop in PA...I had a guy call me locally that said he waited all summer for his motor and when he got it it was missing a bunch of parts.

I dont have any experience with either one...do some google searches.

With SBT you KNOW they will back up their warranty.

For the money its pretty hard to beat...esp on a motor with tons of hours.

If you are racing/modding you may need better quality parts, but a stock rec ski its adequate. Take care of it and it will likely last a long time.

I don't know much about SES. The two that I have heard about are FullBore and SBT. They look legit and offer a good price. I have heard a "few" bad stories from most shops, including SBT. The warranty is key if you are one of the unlucky ones that will have a bad story to tell. SBT is the highest priced, but the warranty they offer is definitely nice.

PS. Your PM Inbox is full brandon, so I could not respond.

Yup they should....just make sure water doesnt get into the motor...and I would recommend fogging the motor after each use to make it last forever. I'm not 100%, but I try to fog everytime.

cool i will try and do that too, Hey i seen sbt has the alignment tool for 150 bucks to should i just get that to do the alignmet? and how hard is it really i left all the motor mounts on the ski and there really isnt any shims or anything and they look great how would you even adjust it anyways

so i called the guy just now in pa he almost didnt sound to interested and he had a dif price in his head than what i seen on his website and ebay and didnt go into details on the warrinty with me i think its a chance im not really up for taking

My brother and I both have 1994 Seadoo Explorers (RIB) they have the 657 motor in them, in march of 2008 my bro purchased an engine from SBT, did away with the oil injection, installed the engine and a new wear ring & reconditioned impeller and he is going to be in to his 4th summer with no problems! I in November of 2009 purcahsed an engine from SES kept the oil injection, installed the engine, also installed new wear ring & reconditioed impeller (both impellers were from SBT's exchange program and we both rebuilt our carbs) and I am going into my 3rd year with no problems. NOW here is the difference my boat is 4.5 miles faster than his according to the same GPS! my local SeaDoo tech told us that SBT lowers there head compression to make the engines last longer. ( I truthfully dont know if this is true but my boat is definatly faster) 38mph is a lot faster than 33.5 on the water! I am happier than he is about this!!
P.S. I would like to add that before my old motor blew up (9 years old running in salt water not bad!) I was still 3.5 - 4mph faster, and with his old motor we were just about the same speed depending on loads)

Hey there just joined so I could respond, we are not east coast cycle , They have asked us to do there warranty work as they closed other than that we are not connected to them. I am shocked to here that I did't give you the time of day, are you sure that wasn't Jen at SBT. Any questions about are warranty feel free to ask, We try to personalize every sale we alway's remember your name and at anytime you can ask for the owner and he will pick up right away, we are not a huge shop, We mostly do seadoo and some yamaha we are the oldest shop exchanging engines we started locally in summer 1993, we are never a long turn around 3 weeks at most if you have certain request and that will be discussed before you even send your engine. we do change the prices in the off season, but there less.

Well hopefully you can make it the type of company it should be...I have heard 3-4 horror stories over the last few years.
