newbie here... i recently required a side job from a amily friend... a 99 GTX 787 RFI engine... neglected to winterize, so to no surpise a crack in the water jacket... what would be your route to fixing this? i am pretty knowledgeable with car engines but pwc engines have me all confused! should i order the parts myself then take to a dealer? or just pull the engine and take it my dealer and let them deal with it?

Look at my thread on "SPX PROJECT" just below. This will give you an idea of the absolute worst shape a craft could be in. I didn't know a ton about 2 strokes, and I just now understand more. I am no mechanic by any means, but I did take this 800 down to bare bones and put it back together.

Search out for other posts. I doubt that any shop will want you to order the parts and them hand them to them. They want to make a buck on the parts! (probably more like $$$$$)

Whatever route you go, you will have a nice ski when your done.
