Gtx 4tec 2004 problem

Just picked one of these up today, runs great but chk engine show up on the dash. Seems to be when you put full throttle out of a sharp turn.

Any ideas? Engine temp was sat about 60.

Ideas please!!

Ok, what I thought was engine temperature is actually exterior temp! So now I'm really not sure what's going on!

Next time the check engine lite comes on press the "SET" button 5 times. The gauge will produce a code (P-????). Report back with the code.

Seems to be the knock sensor - however I'm not sure what this is or does, so is it currently serious?

Not going to be able to pull the ski out before the weekend to get it to a dealer, so is it somethign to worry about or not. From what I've read it seems not, but would be good to hear it from a pro.

Could the KS be disconnected? Also, what sort of gas? Try a higher octane gas and see if it helps.

I'll check the KS tomorrow - am UK based so octane is 98 any way.

Ski is running fine, sounds fine, accelerates fine and handles like it should - so its an odd one!

There is no P0326. Do you mean P0236? If so then, yea, your knock sensor is out of range. SeaDoo came out with some kind of knock sensor harness kit that would solve a wiring issue. I don't know all the details . Call a dealer and see if they can fill you in on the matter. Good luck.
