gtx 4tec 2002 no power!

hi!
i have a 2002 gtx 4tec and i just took it out for the first ride of the year! i have no power and can barely reach 40 mph!?!? last summer it was running fine but now i don't have any power at all! the only thing i did this winter was the oil change!! can someone help me with my problem please!!!!!!!

Check your oil level. If you overfilled it, that will cause to lose power. At wide open throttle you should see something like 7300-7400rpm. Oil level should be half way between the notches on the dip stick.

Thanks! i know the oil level is a little bit over the max. line! but i do i empty it?

Over full will do it

You need to pull se out. Easiest way is through the dip stick tube with a vacuum pump.

Thanks a lot guys! other question : i also changed my cluster this winter because the other one was broken! could it be related?? the cluster i bought was a used one and they just plugged it in!

I suppose anything is possible, but I wouldn't think so as the cluster is a DISPLAY item and does not give input, it accepts input...
