Hi!

My first post so please tell me if its in the wrong section!
Looking to buy my 1st jet ski, I live in Bermuda and everything here is 3x the price of anywhere else!! And I'm not a well off man haha, so the jet skis in my price range need some work doing to them.

I went to view a GTX 2006 today, it hasn't been started in 3 years and judging by the owner I doubt it was properly flushed out etc before it was 'stored' (outside with no covers!!!)

The jet ski doesnt start, the owner says it was beeping at him in the water and turns out the key needs recoding or something and hes never gotten round to fixing it.

After lifting the seat I spotted that the intake hose was not connected to the engine, so this has potentially been open for the whole 3 years!! No doubt some water/moisture has made its way into the engine.

My question is:
By the sounds of it, would the engine need to be taken out, opened up, cleaned and all gaskets replaced etc? I know the carb will need cleaning. He claims the fuel and jet pumps were replaced this year, does that seem dodgy?? Obviously the battery was dead and key isnt coded so I cant start it up to see if it works, it priced extremely cheap so is it worth buying it and tinkering or is it a waste of money?? $1000 USD.

Thanks in advance! See photos below!

Run away from that ski. It's torn apart for a reason and will be very expensive. Intake is off, supercharger needs to be rebuilt, fuel pressure regulator is torn apart. Money pit!
