dealer wants to look 4 $200.00 and put a new MPEM in for another $900.00. it is a clean ski. it worked just fine the last time I took it out. we were out 4 a week no trouble. want to store it ,put additive in it & tried to start it nothing. look in the rear elec. box and it had been wet so I replace everything.
unplug the starter relay & hook up the battery aok. plug in the starter relay ( no button pushing or lanyard ) & away it goes. ??? HELP

Here is Michaels number:714-272-9047 if you want to inquire mpem fix.
Did you remove the fuses, blow out the water and dialectic grease the fuses?
I surmise if you had water in the ski it would wet the rear box, but then you would
slow and water could've splashed MPEM. You should check all connectors and DG
them just to rule things out. Hope you are useing Fluid Film or some equivelent
wireing protectant as general maintenance. Confirm useing your manuals wire
diagram all wires are connected to its proper lug, especially red battery wire.

Sounds like the starter solinoid is stuck. Do some light tapping on it as you touch
the cable to the battery. I've had them stick LOTsa times and a lite tap fixed it.
Had the start button go bad too! Was it Saltwater or fresh?

mpem clean, pulled all the fuses, aok & clean. new starter relay & coils, is there an other solinoid on the starter ? when I unplug the starter relay everything works ok. but it will not start. push in the starter relay away we go :[

you mentioned, good starter button. Did you replace it with known good one? If not, disconnect it, then plug in the relay plug, see what happens.

No not a new stater button. I used the button to put the ski in advanced self-diagnostic mode & it worked. I put it in & out of the mode 3 times with the button.
I will disconnect it & see. Thx.

Kind of interesting. Have you tried to start it and then put the key on the post when it is running ? Is the key already on the post ? I wonder if the post is jacked up.. I would love to hear what the issue ends up being.

Love the whole "away we go thing" cracks me up... I'm more of a WTF guy when crazy stuff starts happening.. It's always good for a laugh once you get things sorted out.

I'M READY 4 THE LAUGH PART.:]
I ripped apart the handlebar / starter button & the darn button is one piece all the way to the mpem plug, I unplug it & put the battery cable on the battery & away we go. Thing about cutting the starter cable ? what do you think?
