If you could pick between a 98 GSX limited or a 99 GP1200, which would you pick? both are for $2,000. Thanks.

I would go the GSX route but then again your asking this question on a seadoo forum so your probably going to get biases answers. I like the look of the GSX much more than the Yamaha, I think they will have similar performance, I dont know if the the Yamaha is a 2 seater or a three seater but the GSX is a 2 seater if that is a deciding factor.

whats gonna be the difference between the two

Nope. I have a gp1200 already but never ridden a gsx. The gsx guy says no test rides cause registration expired over the winter

If you were going to buy a new/used-car/truck, wouldnt you wanna test drive it?

Its a red flag, man...somethings's wrong with it.

The price goes down if there are no test rides. He may be telling the truth... but most likely... he's hiding something.

The GP hull is good, but the engine is short lived, and expensive to fix. Close to me, there is a GB800 and a GP 1200 both with blown engines, going cheap.

I would say stay away from the GSX if you cant test it out first. I bought mine without testing it because the guy said if it does not run or has a problem he would give me my money back and or fix what was wrong with it, we had a written aggrement and I knew ware he lived  In the log run every thing turned out great, I had no problems with the ski as prommised but I probaly lucked out.

The ultra150 is a fast ski but is also a very heavy ski as well, not sure on realiblity but who is when it comes to anything that has to do wiht a boat.

dont be afraid of the GSX. if you do your research, you can find out if there is something wrong. ask to hook a hose up to it and run it. if it sounds normal and starts strong there shouldnt be anything too serious. check compression also. but 2000$ for a GSX limited is a nice deal. those 951cc engines arent as reliable as the 800cc but that would be a fast ski if it runs solid.

You need to flush it out after every use, lube all the working parts up, change the jet pump oil atleast once a year, use the correct oil, have your plugs gaped correctley, nothing out of the ordianry:cheers:

well thats really no different from any other ski, except maybe the pump oil

There is a lot more the the DI. Even just keeping the engine compartment clean and dry will help keep all components in top running condition. To prevent corrosion use one of Seadoo's XPS lubricant spray.
