To me that sounds fuel related. My experience is that ignition (i.e. spark) either works or does not work. When it works intermittently, it is usually a case of thermal expansion causing something to short or arc out. One minute is not enough time for any significant thermal change with regards to ignition components. I would venture that you have a fuel problem somewhere; fuel pump or restriction. we test this with outboard motors by spraying premixed fuel into the carb throats with a hand spray bottle while the motor is running. If it continues to run where it would normally quit, then you have a fuel restriction somewhere. On outboards it takes a little longer to quit as those carburetors have bowls with floats that meter the fuel. Usually what happens is that the motor will run fine until the fuel in the bowls is exhausted, then they quit. In that case it indicates a clogged filter, or a stuck needle. With the Mikuni carburetors, I don't thing the reservoir is that big, so it will run a very short amount of time if you have a fuel restriction; either a stuck needle, a stuck valve, a clogged filter, or a weak fuel pump.
