Hey all,

I'm new to Sea-Doo's and jet boats in general. Recently I was given a 2001 Sea-Doo Utopia 185 that has been sitting for 5 years. The boat is in excellent condition with the exception of the engine. Unfortunately I believe it's locked up, however I have a good friend who spent 22 years in the U.S. Coast Guard as an engine mechanic who kept boats and ships of all sizes and with all types of engines running for those 22 years so he will be a lot of help with this project.

I live in Alabama on the Gulf of Mexico bordering Florida. Needless to say there is a lot of water here of all types so I'm looking forward to learning more about these boats and hopefully getting it to run.

Welcome to the seadoo forum. I hope you got your M2 for a really cheap price. Those Merc engines are expensive to replace. There is a lot of information here on the forum and members that own that same seadoo. If you need a manual there is one in out library on that engine.

Given???

Can't complain about that. One of the best rides I have was "given" to me. I now beat the dog snot out of it jumping waves in the Gulf off Surfside, TX.

Hope yours is as much fun for you when you get it running
