I've got to tell you that while Googling questions about Seadoo maintenance and repair a thread from this forum would almost always turn up, so I became a member and started reading about a week ago. You guys have put together an amazing collection of information which I'll be putting to use as soon as my ski comes out of storage. Last season I picked up my first Seadoo, a 1997 GTX from a friend, a screaming deal at $800. It's in pretty good shape and it didn't let me down. I know that it was reasonably well maintained because it belonged to a friend but when winterizing I found a few minor problems. The pump cone had been overtorqued and was distorted, replaced. One of the threaded holes in the plastic pump housing for a Venturi bolt is stripped, I found some stuff called PlastiFix that claims you can rebuild threads in plastic. I'm going to give it a shot, if it works I'll start a thread and pass on the success for others to use as I haven't found anything about it yet. I hope to fix the " out of the hole" bogging issue with fuel line replacement, original Tempo lines still in use, rebuild the carbs, clean the RAVEs, and low speed needle adjustment. I wrench on a friends 2000 RX, pretty sure it needs a pump rebuild, it's got quite a rattle and nothing but water came out of the pump when I winterized it, clear with no rust. Without this forum I would not have any idea about the fixes that need to be made or how to do them. Thanx for your dedication to the members and helping us to keep these machines on the water. I'm starting to gather parts and hoping to see all this ice start to melt soon. Cheers to spring:cheers:

Welcome glad to have you aboard! I stayed in Niagara-on-the-lake and Toronto over the summer with my wife. Very impressed by both.

You came to the right place to answer all of your tech related questions. Check out our parts site at SeadooWarehouse.com. We DO ship to Canada and all over the world for that matter.

As you discovered....this is the best Seadoo site on the Planet!

On that pump...you are talking about the insert that the bolt holds the venturi/steering nozzle on? or are you talking about on the actual venturi? If its the pump, those "nuts" are housed in a plastic insert that pops right out and is replaceable in about 2 seconds.

If I can help with anything else....just let me know!

This won't make any sense if the picture doesn't display but the bad hole is on #9 at the outboard end. I didn't look close enough when I assembled it, I just picked up a new bolt as it was missing and there were no threads to catch on. Are you saying that there are metal nut inserts at this location? If so I'll need to get one.

It actually just a regular nut in a plastic square holder. If you stick a stubby Phillips in the backside and yank away from the housing it will pop right out.

Before we learned to walk, we can cross check properly....Favorite line!!

OHHHH fawk ya BUD!

They need to do a remix with sleds...which will crossover to jetskis. Regardless, my next video of riding I put together will have this as the track.
