Good source for paint codes?

I will as soon as I get my new cover installed! Right now its shoved to the back of the shop covered up. I wish I would have taken better pictures of when I first picked it up. I only took one when my kids were clowning around on it. Can't really see the details. :(

I did the heat gun treatment today to one I am selling. Worked out well. I removed the deflector and put it aside, then reattached it when I was done with the hood.

Nice job, looks great. When doing the heat gun, how big of an area did you heat at once? Did you do it in long lines or square box sections?

I try to do long lines at consistent speeds, very easy to heat it too much and have some irregular glossy patches. Depends how picky you want to be.

The before for reference:

Shawn, looks like you were in the same "boat" as me. too bad they didn't make the shield out of the same plastic. Mine also faded
to a shade of blue.

Kicker, did you get that straw yet?

Yeah it's a shame, the underside looks great. Decided that keeping the decal was better than screwing up a perfectly good deflector.

No that was my iPhone flash- color looks the same as the "before" pic.

Took this during the resto yesterday-

When I peeled off the decal on my original unit in hopes to sand off the faded color, I knew it would be a difficult decal to replace. Not only did I scrap the decal, I learned that the faded pigments go so deep into the plastic, it can't be sanded out. So I destroyed mine both ways.

For future Dr Honda will make those decals for you. Either way it sounded like it got destroyed.

Guys Minnetonka already makes the BOMBARDIER sticker for the GSX. Or are you looking for the GSX one?

Got a handful from Nick over the past few months, I think 68 was redoing his deflector. So he would have required the GSX decal.

I wouldn't mind finding both decals for the cover. The GSX for the sheild & Bombardier's for the cover.

Look up the Dr. Honda custom vinyl thread.

Not sure what Minnetonka can all do, but he did some 'bombardier" decals for the side of a couple of my hoods.

Nick was able to get an OEM new decal and then had it scanned and copied, so his aftermarket ones are identical to the Bombardier originals. The two he sent with my hood were awesome. I'm kinda reluctant to put them on.....
