Getting Excited GTI SE

My wife and I are about to make our first purchase we have found a 2007 GTI SE 4-tec in our area for $6500.00 w/ galv trailer. Its got 8 hours on it. I called the local dealers and boat shops and they were not very helpful when I asked if they would inspect it for a fee, or look at it for me.

at 8 hrs of use can alot of crap be wrong ( i know it starts at least)?

Anyone have one that can put some input on like/dislikes?
