Hey guys, my 96 GSX is showing "MAINT" on the gauge. Is this a reminder to get it serviced, or does this act like a check engine light would on a car? The unit just hit 99 hours this evening, and is that light now comes on. Thanks!

the MAINT light comes on every 25 or 50 hours as a reminder. hold the mode and set buttons down at the same time while ski is powered up and it will go away.

Awesome, thank you. Since this thing has 100 hrs on it now, is there anything I should do? The top end of the motor was cleaned this spring, it has new plugs in it, I am changing the fuel lines and filter today, and I just switched to synthetic yesterday. Is there anything I am overlooking?

I'd also change the jet pump oil while your at it. Make sure you clean the fuel selector valve too. Otherwise, your only flowing that crud back into the carbs. :)

Pardon my newbie ignorance, but what/where is the fuel selector valve, and how do I change the jet pump oil? What kind of oil would you recommend for the jet pump?

it should actually say TAINT..........cause thats where it will hurt when you take it to a dealer

There are even videos on youtube on how to change the oil......best bet is too download a shop manual, It will go through all the steps with pretty good detail. You can call your local dealer and just ask how much a pump oil change will cost. Use a 75 90 synthetic gear oil

and the fuel selector is your knob that you change on your gas tank to off, gas, or reserve tank
