I have a 98 speedster with the twin 787's and the past two times that I’ve come off the lake I’ve found that when I open the drain plug gas comes out about a cup or so.. also and I think that this might be related, When I’m at idle in the boat for more than a min or so and I crack open the throttle it runs shitty for a few seconds the is fine. I don’t see a gas leak anywhere and it doesn’t seem to accumulate when not running..

Any ideas?

Unfortunatly... there is nowhere to start with a fuel leak, but it's very important that you find it. fuel in the bilge can make for a bad fire.

As far as the hesitation... if it's just a small "stutter" and then it clears out as you throttle up... then that's a normal thing for a 2-stroke engine. It's known as "loading up." it can be minimized (or eliminated) by adjusting the low speed mix screws on your carbs. I would turn them in an 1/8 to a 1/4 of a turn in, to lean out your idle a little. if you go too far in with them, you will get a lean bog as you throttle up.

Also, putting in a fresh set of spark plugs will help eliminate that.
