fuel pump

just instulled a new fuel pump becuse the last one
was intermitently running well this one is to
checked all conections fuses what controles the pump???
does the computer can this be an issue?

The MPEM supplies 12 volts to the pump. The ECU (on top of the engine) supplies the ground to turn it on.

what should i look at Dennis?
were would you go or what should i replace (how to test)
i unpluged the pump and far right on plug has power
when key is put in
I may have to hot wire with a switch
this sucks a none dependible peace on $hit
UP DATE
checked for ground with and without key in at pump plug
no ground but have 12 volts
with 12 volts to the pump side of the plug pump works fine,
if I cant fix it properly whats the idea of cutting the ground wire at
the pump plug and going to ground with it? may not be fused
