Fuel pump electrical connection splice

I’m replacing the fuel pump in a ‘02 GTX-DI and I need to splice the original electrical connectors to the pigtail on the new pump.

It came with barrel style crimp connectors... I don’t trust these.
Can I do a soldered pigtail and shrink wrap?
Will shrink wrap survive the gas?
Is there a better method?

Yes it will work fine. Be careful with soldering iron make sure you are far away from gasoline.
