I did not have to prime mine. Have you checked your pulse line? Also check hose connections on water separator/filter and make sure the oring is present on the bowl and it is screwed in well/tight.

Hi guys, I'm sure you are getting sick of me but here goes.
I went in a tried a gravity feed direct gas can hanging over the ski feeding the carbs direct. Although it started right up it only ran for about 10 seconds then died. Seems a quarter gallon of gas when right down the carbs!!! I at a loss as to what to do as it seems this motor has only 125 psi on both cylinders. This is the motor that had sucked a bolt through the carb, I just pulled the top end apart to get it out, I put new rings in while I was there. Did I mess up the install?

1/4 of a gallon of gas sounds like it may flooded itself out.

Rebuild the carbs including fuel pump which is on the Mag Carb.

Ok, so I took the f'er apart again, went through the carbs completely, while I was there I said screw it and pulled the rotary valve apart and to my amazement it was waaaayyyyy out of time, I think I must have flipped the valve over when I reinstalled it!!!! Anyway put it back together and it fired right up!!! Go figure

Glad you got it fixed.

Thanks for posting the root cause you been chasing. I would have never thought it was timing related since it did fire and run.

You guys hung in there with me and were super helpful, very grateful!! Thanks guys

Well, congratulations, I hate to say I told you so...., well maybe I don't hate to say. Anyway when you get things squared away check the compression again, I have a feeling you're gonna be surprised. And even if not 125psi ain't terrible, I was going to say it might get you through another season or two, but you guys in S. Cal. don't really have seasons.

Lou

I was waiting for you to chime in Lou!!! Hey maybe the timing was messing with the compression number? Anyway super happy right now! I'm putting these things in the water. Having said that the other ski still has tempo lines. Noooooooooooo
