I everyone I have a 1999 Seadoo gtx the fuel guage stoped working and every few minutes a loud buzzer comes on, jetski operates fine just can't tell how much fuel because bars don't appare and buzzer sounds every few minutes. Can someone help me.

Thanks

The fuel gauge problem is probably just the float.

The more immediate problem is the buzzer, check and see if the ski is overheating. Is there water coming out the pee hole at the rear of the ski?

Also check and see if there is plenty of oil in the tank, I never let mine get below 1/2 tank.

Let us know what you find.

Water is coming out of the holes in the back, however my oil level is low, so I will have to fill it and see if the beeping stopps.
I do have some seadoo synthetic two stroke oil that I could put in however its been sitting around for a few years, does oil go bad or should I just buy new oil? What if the float is busted anyway to prepare it of do I need to replace it?
Thanks for all the help guys

I would go ahead and use the oil that you have, I don't think oil goes bad as long as it's sealed. Is that the same oil that you're using now?

From what Tony (Dr Honda) is saying it could all be related to the fuel float. When you replace the float get the newer molded style.

Hi guys so I added the oil started it up and still beeping, I check the fuses they all looked fine, so maybe its the float as you guys were saying, any idea on good websites that I can pick up a float for cheap. Also i have heard about the F1 fuse where is that located i couldn't find one.

Would anyone happen to know that part number for a fuel float I could only find the entire baffle not the float, does any know that part number for a 99 GTX limited?
thanks for all your help

Hi guys so I took out the baffle today pulled the float out, checked if its floating and it is, all the magnets are still attached, I pushed the float up into the baffle to symulate full tank and still no bars on computer, computer is not saying low fuel, when i pulled the oil connecter by mistake computer said low oil so I put connectors back together. Do I need to replace the entire baffle now? Could it be anything else?

hi guys the f-1 fuse on the sending unit is at the top of the board you have to cut out a section of the plastic with a dremel tool to get to it
just google fixing sending unit and it will show you how to do this it worked great on mine just put a inline fuse on the power wire out side of the gas tank

Mine was doing exactly the same as yours. From a thread I found on here, you can pull the plug on the sender unit and put across a jumper wire. This tricks the unit into thinking the tank is full.To check the fuel levels,I lift up the front hatch and use the eyeometer.works every time:)
