Tried to crank my ski yesterday with the gas off then remembered to turn it on but still wouldn't crank. Looked at the g2 filter and it was empty. Holding the button it would gurgle into the bottom of the filter about half an inch but that's all. Why did it drain out and why won't it suck up? Did fine with new lines and filter the day before. Only put 1 gallon of gas in the clean tank. Could it just need to be on reserve till I add more gas after getting it running right?

Your ski uses a suction type fuel delivery. The filter will not fill up even when running perfectly. Good chance you simply need more fuel as the reserve is right around a gallon . So if it ran yesterday, just add fuel and see what you get. Good opportunity to test your reserve switch though..

Thanks, everything is new/clean. I'm hoping it's just the fuel level. Day before Yesterday was the first cranking after carb rebuild, tank and baffle cleaning, new lines and fuel valve cleaning. had a water Issue the first day but it fired right up. Just didn't run right and I couldn't run the hose on it.

There will always be some air trapped in the G2 filter, this is normal and not a problem. You'll be lucky to see it 1/2 full of fuel when the fuel system is operating correctly and then the filter must be in the vertical position with the inlet facing downward and fuel flowing upward.

So don't expect it will fill completely with fuel.
