Hello,

I just had my first ride on a 1996 seado SP. After driving for 2.5 hours, the jet ski felt like it ran out of gas. Giving full throttle, the jet ski felt like it ran and stop repeatedly (felt like fuel was cutoff). If I pushed it slowly it ran. Finally it shut down.

I thought I ran out of gas when I couldn't start it. So I put in reserve gasoline mode but couldn't start it. So I put it into regular gas mode and pull the lever a few times. Finally the engine started and I was able to drive the remainder of the lap normal (it felt normal, but I didn't drive long enough).

When I got on land and checked the gasoline, it was a tick less than half the tank. What could it be?

I bought this jet ski just this weekend and first time ever riding a jet ski.

Somebody refers to as "Grey line syndrome", something about replacing a plastic fuel selector valve, fuel lines, and cleaning the carb. How much are those cost? I am willing to get dirty and do the replacement myself :)

15ft of 1/4in fuel line, Autozone = 20buks

new fuel selector switch..aka on/off/res switch = 25 buks

cleaning the carbs/internal filters with carb cleaner = PRICELESS

I like your style. Keeping it simple.

For the original fuel lines, what color are they? I think the original owner had it changed (now its clear). I saw a service order invoice in 2003 (maybe thats long in jet ski years).

Do I have to worry about any type of pressure when replacing the fuel lines?

1) can you put a link where I can order an aftermarket plastic fuel selector valve for a 1996 SP seadoo?

2) Any DIY online to taking the carb out and cleaning it?

Btw, could I have done any damage prior to if I tried starting the engine a few times when the fuel selector was on "off"? :)

Thanks,
tony
