Adding to the saga of my newly bought 96 sp I found that the oil pump lines are blocked off. Hope I haven't done too much damage to it already. A mechanic told me to add oil to the gas just in case and that seemed to have worked until I found out about the plugged lines. Now that I know this what should I do? I don't mind adding oil the fuel, I feel it's safer in case the pump was ever to go up. What oil do I use for the mix. And what ratio? I just put 4qts of Amsoil in the oil tank I will need to pump out and reuse. Is this the right oil to mix with the fuel? Again what ratio? 50:1?

me again, it looks like only one line is blocked off. It has a filter in line and is blocked off on the end. Another line is going under the engine and I think is connected. Why would they have done it this way?

What motor do you have, I would receonnect everything and then do some troubleshooting to see why the line/s blocked off - in the meantime mix 40-1 and if you have a long no-wake zone be sure to carry extra spark plugs, when you see all that idling smoke you will know why you carry the plugs and tools. once you research the oil pump there may be nothing at all wrong, mark the tank to observe if it is drinking oil. When you drop back in advise if 650-717 or 787 motor.

yes... 40:1 is the proper mix.

as far as removing the oil from the tank... don't. you still need oil in the tank, to feed the rotary valve gears. if you don't have any leaks, that oil will stay in there for a very long time.
