Fouling Plugs

I've been having problems with my ski! It will run great for up to 40 min - 1 hr and then foul the plugs and not restart. Plugs are black and soaked. Is this a fuel regulator problem? I've been through the whole charging system.
1. stator tested at .6 ohms
2. new rectifier
3. new AGM DEKA battery.
4. pulled stator and mag cup, clean both of metal shavings.

This engine is a fresh rebuild with about 2 - 3 hrs of run time

I know several people are having this problem. All the threads die and no one has posted their solution (if any). I don't want to take it to the dealer, but it looks like I may have to. I need help sooner than later. So get your diagnosing hats on PLEASE!

If you are fouling plugs... then there is too much fuel... or too much oil, and the charging system has nothing to do with it.

I would start with cleaning the carbs, and verifying that they are set to the proper specs for your ski. Also... make sure the oil injection pump is set up correctly, and that the cable is still working. If the cable fell off, or broke, the pump will go wide open, and pump in it's maximum amount of oil.

Last thing... since you just had the engine rebuilt... I'm thinking the oil pump isn't set up. When the tension comes off the cable, the arm will roll around backward. (there is a spring on it) then... if you aren't paying attention, you can hook the cable back onto the carb, with the arm of the pump on the wrong side. (also giving max oil)

This is a fuel injected ski, no carbs. I installed a new(OEM) oil pump when I rebuilt the engine and set to the lean side. Cable is fine. Will the TPS cause any of these issues if it's out of adjustment?

OK... assuming the pump is set properly.... yes... a bad TPS, or other sensor could cause the system to run rich. Unfortunately, the only real way to test the sensors is to use the SeaDoo diagnostic computer. You can test it with a volt/ohm meter... but it doesn't always give good results since the readings can change while running from heat and vibration.

OK someone on pwctoday posted on my thread, that he is having the exact same problem with his 98 RFI. He said he swapped coils from an 01 RFI and it ran great all weekend. He said the 01 has 7mm wires and is changing out his original wires on his 98 coil to 7mm. Is this a possible solution?
