Ok so in my last post we talked about my leak. I got my engine running again. Took it down to the water.
The top suggestion was my carbon seal so I put it in and turned it on. Nothing leaking from the carbon seal but I could see the water rising at maybe a rate of 1/2” per minute.
I was confounded so I looked at the back to see what other access water could have to the inside of the hull.

what I’m seeing (I believe) is the bilge pump outlet is the only place that really gives good through hull access.
The bilge is not currently working. Is it possible that water is backfilling into the bilge pump and leaking into the hull?

if so what are my short and long term options ?
my plan is this…
Short term - find a threaded end piece to use to block the inlet, and also remove bilge pump fuse

long term - replace or fix bilge pump

I would probably start by getting all the water out of the water out of the bilge again, reach down into the back again begin looking for things that are not attached or broken. 1/2" of elevation of water/minute is a lot of water and should be pretty obvious.

you could, i suppose, do it the reverse. Leave the drain plug in, tip the trailer with the seadoo on it really steep, begin filling the bilge with a garden hose and monitor outside the boat to see where it is leaking.

there are many locations where the water could be coming in.....I purchased a 98 speedster last year, the previous owner did not know how to diagnose the water leak so his solution was to fill the entire exit of the exhaust with silicone....it was hilarious.( i wish i had a photo to share) Looked like an elephant blew its nose on the back of the boat. anyways, it ended up being massive cracking in the resonator probably do to improper winterizing. These boats, including your jetski has long term connection issues with the muffler to the hull. the rubber seal where the muffler exits dries out and cracks.

long story short, there are a lot of things that go through the back of the boat where water could leak and each one needs to be checked.

Goood lord. Ok so I checked again and again. I think the first time I was maybe seeing not a leak but just the water moving toward the baxk bc I was putting pressure on it with my weight.
I just took it out again and tried 6 different configurations of plugging the bilge outlet, unplugging, driving, stopping etc and I simply could not get it to “leak”

wondering if maybe when my heavy friend dumped it a few times trying to get it he let a bunch of water get into it. Idk I’m gonna ride and check every 5 mins to see.

Leave it strapped to the trailer back it in just enough to submerge the pump start it up and remove the small rear hatch and look for leaks

Tilt the ski bow up and put water in it and see where it leaks out.if no water then drain it run on hose see if water goes while it's running.if still no water chances are you have a problem with your bailer tubes.the plastic tubes in venturi had a problem of falling out and instead of a vacuum it will push water in the bildge or bad orings on venturi
