Ok so in my last post we talked about my leak. I got my engine running again. Took it down to the water.
The top suggestion was my carbon seal so I put it in and turned it on. Nothing leaking from the carbon seal but I could see the water rising at maybe a rate of 1/2” per minute.
I was confounded so I looked at the back to see what other access water could have to the inside of the hull.
what I’m seeing (I believe) is the bilge pump outlet is the only place that really gives good through hull access.
The bilge is not currently working. Is it possible that water is backfilling into the bilge pump and leaking into the hull?
if so what are my short and long term options ?
my plan is this…
Short term - find a threaded end piece to use to block the inlet, and also remove bilge pump fuse
long term - replace or fix bilge pump
