I finally got that gsx with the 787 that needed a wear ring and some minor stuff for 650.00


I fixed most of the stuff and took it out today .ski ran perfect ...He also had another gsx same year it was super clean.that one was out of my price range....

just curious, what other minor stuff? when i get back into skis, i can't decide if i wanta go with 2 stroke or 4 stroke, because when i had mine, little thing after little thing would break

I also have a 89 sp which is priceless to me not the fastest but its like a tonka truck .Best ski ever for spinning and jumping.

oneday i am going to put a baddass motor in it then it will be sick....

lol it was a fluke that i sold it .someone saw me riding it at the lake who was there with some of his buddies with skis and had to have it.It wasnt even for sale...lol

Call number.
Negotiate old blown up motor and triple pipes for the 2500. Tell he someone already went to look at for another member.
The compression in once cylinder is 125 and other is 135.
Other than that is golden......
He is not far off and ski is being hostage for the mechanics bill.

oscar looked at it, and I decided to take a pass honestly only because I have no interest in riding the RX hull, if I liked the RX hull I would have kept the last one I had instead of selling it.

but for the record, i'll likely be in Miami in the next 7 days, and i'm going over there to pick up an empty trailer, so I can pick it up for you if its something you really want, and stash it over here indoors for a few days, or a few weeks, I have storage. honestly I was thinking that the day I go over to Miami I was going to try and set up a meet with the guy and try for 24-2500 as is myself but only to part out the XX parts, (pump/mpem/pipe) and replace with RX parts, and sell it, might not even drop it in the water once since if its strictly for resale, I see no need to risk dropping it in the water. But if I bought it, it will end up as a RX with UMI basically, if you bought it, well, we know it won't end up like that...

I still am a tad concerned about the 125 comp #'s but the ski/motor has been sitting for a long time, (18 months ?) so its quite possible that it will come in 130 130 on the next test. (but no guarantee obviously) in the 2500 range with all the extra's it offers good value, maybe excellent value for what you get. (spare blown engine and spare pipes)

one point of concern might be title issues, since I think its in his dad's name, and dad is deceased, but I don't think he's trying to pull a fast one, just that the title is a bit complicated, but 99% chance the title transfer's right over like its no big deal, but part of me still worried that it might end up a big fat hassle, and if the PO has already been paid, well, he won't give a dam about the buyer having issues with paperwork.
but if you really want it matt, give me a call and we'll discuss it. I'd just rather get back into an xp or a 4 stroker, and not something half way in between. and since i'm not a tuner, I don't want an rxx, and the hassles involved, but its right up your alley I have limited amounts of time on the RX hull, and its ok, but not what suits my preferences.

I can water test it for ya!
The mechanic who has it hostage lives on only lake where they allow powered water crafts. Shop is 10 minutes away!
The lake is nearly across my development and other member kbolaloco1 has access to lake too.

I tried to find pictures I sent Spim but can't find them on my phone.
Ski is pristine! Has been in storage for long time...........

Our first encounter, I told him compression was down, had no battery so that was worth the 200 I was asking off but then he said no water test.
I said not my call and left.

I day later he texts me and said okay lets do it and I said not my deal and gave him Spim's #.
I add if you make it 2500 I know he will say yes!

Never got reply. I hope he likes my offer now

I can try to call mechanic since I had gone to him to help me with my Yami's
Grew a set and invested in a hoist instead and yanked motor out to reseal midplate VS $600 bill to do it again.
Had it done to replace engine mounts/oil change/change rusted clamps ~ 3 months ago by different mechanic !!!!!!

I can ask if he can call owner saying he has a buyer for 2500 firm VS private sale where he thinks its worth more? Mechanic want his $$$$$$$$
May be give it a shot.

keep me posted. and i really don't see the need for me to ride it (if it ends up at my place for a time)
1) won't be registered
2) not sure how the pump will react with the single pipe
3) engine has sat a long time
4) not sure if carb's have been rejetted for single pipe (i believe different jetting comes along with twins)

i'll just drive it home, store it in the garage, and wait
and I have cash to cover it, so no big hurry/worry about that, one step at a time.
ps, getting ball joints on my truck thursday, so saturday/sunday is the earliest I can make the drive, and sunday is much more preferred, its my wifes day at work, so I can take the run then, if I go saturday, i'll have to convince her to take a ride with me.

but maybe oscar can pick it up, take it to his place, and wait for me sunday whatever...
