Interesting. I've continually read 100 hrs or 2 years is the rebuild time regardless of what Seadoo says.

Check the part number on the SC. You might not want to rebuild the early models. If you rebuild for $425 with out up grades, you will get 100 hrs till the next rebuild. If you buy the new rolled over part number, beefed up OEM for $866, you get 200 hrs till rebuild. And only have to remove and install once.

If you get the latest rebuild kit from BRP then you are only reusing the wheel and the front and rear housings not sure I would pay over $400 more for a new wheel and housings when there is nothing wrong with the ones you have. The guts of a new charger and the latest rebuild kit should be identical. The 200hrs from BRP is purely marketing it is recommended to rebuild at 100hrs or two years even with the latest and greatest kit from BRP. If the charger pukes at 199.5 hrs do you think BRP is going to repair the charger or the damage done to the engine because they said 200 hrs ?

Just removed the SC today, isn´t looking bad!! Looks like there are not ceramic washer, could you guys help to insure that?

Pretty sure those are ceramics from what I can tell.
Hard to tell from the lighting but I agree. Look like ceramic.

This is basically all misinformation. First, the rebuild kit used in the picture is one of the older rebuild kits, so it's not one of the "200 hour" kits. Second, those "200 hour" kits are all that we use to rebuild superchargers, and you STILL SHOULD REBUILD EVERY 100 HOURS!!! It's NOT beefed up by any means, but rather a marketing ploy to help reduce the perceived maintenance intervals and expenses. Buying a whole new supercharger for $866 makes no sense when a rebuild will make your supercharger virtually identical to the newer model (as mentioned with a rebuild only the housing and impeller stay the same).

 I see superchargers every week on the newest kits catastrophically fail when going over 100 hours. People push that rebuild as long as they can, then notice something is "up" before rebuilding. The bearings just can't take it and the clutches still slip before then. But then again, ymmv, it's your supercharger, your luck, your risk, maybe you have the golden goose heh.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for all info.

I´m looking right now for the rebuild and I wont put it back on the engine until get this job done.

The strange is: The SC was clearly pulled out of the engine before by the PO, and I just don´t know why he (his mechanic) did not change these washers…
Why someone would take the SC out and put it back as it is?

Thank You once again, very useful infos!

It could have been rebuild, but when it was the kit style was different. Likely pre '08.

Makes sense!

So probably this SC is running for more than 5 years.... Probably also it has not 50hours, but more years than it should be, correct?

Last question: Why 2 years only? Does the internal parts get old so fast?
