So i finally get this ski(95 seadoo xp 720) into the water...idle it out bof the no wake zone...get ready to push it then BEEEEEEP overheating! Brought it back to the dock...any ideas??? Gonna go thru the entire cooling system today...Not much water comin out the pee hole out the back ...only when i give it throttle...:banghead:

Yep... bad sensor. If water was coming out the pee-hole at all... there is water flowing, and you wouldn't have overheated at idle.

BUT... with that said... I would still blow though the system with compressed air to make sure it's OK.

To check the sensor... hook it to a meter, and put it in a pot of water on your stove. Heat it up, until it switches on. (goes closed) Don't let it hit the bottom of the pan. It should click over around 195 ~ 210 deg. Needless to say, you will need a thermometer in the water to know the temp.

It's not common... but they do go bad every once in a while.

I agree with above Tech's
A poor impeller clearance or a stoppage of any of the three holes in the venturi results in poor cooling.

suggestions:
Wire out your cooling fittings 4,5,6,8,9,10,14 of accumulation and air-chuck out all the hoses.

Replace your oil filter 25,in the tank to injection pump, http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/seadooforums/Seadoo_oem/Seadoo_PWC.asp?Type=13&A=27&B=12
replace your two 3/32"id oil lines from the oil injection pump to the RV cover's cylinder spigots 20,21.

ok so today i tested the sensor and it seems to go off at about 140 degreesF which tells me its goin off to early(it should be goi off at 200)....i got a new sensor today at a local seadoo dealer new for $34 bucks... i blew out the entire cooling system with air and everything is flowing good...Thank dr honda for the test method..and bill i did the oil filter and oil lines and fresh api-tc oil..one last note the oring in the head were leaking a little water...got the head off and gonna replace all the top end orinngs....could that contrbute to poor cooling?

Take that opportunity to get any crud out down in the cylinder's chamber. Check your shop manual for the head's re-torque spec & pattern.
You might go a few #'s less as the bolts are already stretched.

So i got to test it yesterday on water after changing the temp sensor for brand new one and changing the entire top end orings to fix leak and waddayaknow.... IT RAN AWESOME!!!! No overheating and no leaks on topend waterjackets....Thanks everyone for all your help!!! :)
