F/S Boat seat covers...

Hello all.

I would like to get some input from you about seat covers for older Seadoo boats. What I want to do is duplicate the covers shape and colors so the boat owner can easily re-upholster the seats themselves at half the cost of what the factory charges for replacement covers. Please let me know if any of you will be interested on a product like this?

Only thing is, I don't actually want it to match the colors. I hate the colors of my boat and would much prefer the sportster blue or the speedster yellow ;)

Once I'm done with this thing there won't be any purple or teal left on it.

I would also be interested in a set of covers, but NOT in the factory colors, but nothing off the wall...Normal colors...Let us now

Update..

I just order a few samples of fabric to try to get a match to what Seadoo used. Also I started taking out the seats on my own boat (challenger 1800) so i can start working on the rear bench seat covers. Here is a pic of what they should look like. I want to start with the mid 90s speedsters, sportster and challengers boats.

Regarding other color combinations. That should be no problem but it will take me a little longer.

Thanks
CJ

So what type of price are we lookin at (cjb). And If I was to supply the material what are lookin at. I have a 1997 Speedster. It has the 3 seats across back, a spoters seat (single), and a butt and back pad at the bow. Thanks. Let me know

I have not really worked the prices yet. I do know that they have to be lower than retail. For example. The rear back seat cover for a 97 Sportster is around $140 dollars each. I am looking to cut that to less than half for mine. Of course it will not be exactly the same as I will not be able to do logos. At least not for now. If you provide me the material then it even less.

What year is your sportster?

Update.

I have received the white vinyl samples that I order. Tonight I will match them the best I can to my challenger original Seadoo vinyl and then I will place the order. I should have the finish product by the end of next week. I will post pictures.

seats

hey
that sounds great my 97 speedster seats are sad.....im in venice Fl so not to far away from you

Update..

Yes i am still working on it. I had to find foam replacements for the seat back on my challenger due to mine been in bad shape. I already found one on Ebay and it’s on its way to me. I want to make sure the fitment of the vinyl pieces is good before i put them for sale. I also had to do a little bit of research on what the best thread to use to put the pieces together. I almost have all the material I need to start. It has taken a longer but it is coming along.

Anyone know how hard it is to recover seats? I figured I could use the originals as a pattern to a certain extent. Obviously, they're formed so you'd have to get creative in spots. I assume you use 3M spray adhesive and stainless staples.

CJB - With the new material will we be spray adhesive/stapling, or will they have zippers/full covers?

Thanks!

What material are you using or have used?
Is it 4-way stretch vinyl?
If you have finished a set can you post pic's?

Awsome - I need these too

I have a 1999 challenger 1800 and need the back seats and rest. In your picture it is all the white seats. I also need the back loudge replaced. I noticed in your picture it was missing. Can you give me a quote on the cost for replacing these seven items???? I think this is great you took this on.

George

hey !!

thats a great idea i have mine done like 4 days ago and i pay 500.00 for seats just the bottom one and the spoiler and they change the foam. im gonna post some pictures next week .they do a great job !! god bless u fellows :hurray::rofl:

:boxing_smiley:cjb - Are you still doing Seats??? What is the status. It looks
like you could have plenty of work. Are you going to do it or what???

I wonder if wet okole or similar covers could be made for the boats? They come in many colors and patterns...... That way, you just slip them over your upholstry....

I think this is a dead deal. When it stops raining I'm going to pull mine from storage and get started on it. Maybe I can make templates as I go. We'll see.

Not specific for the 1800 series boats, so you'd be on your own for the front seats, but there's another thread for a dude in florida that is doing this for the 15 foot boats
