Hey guys, I am in the process of rebuilding the carb following the tutorial from mickydimac but it seems there are extra gaskets, and one of them is considerably thicker than then the rubber ones. Mickydimac didn't appear tonuse the thick one. I jut want to make sure the rubber ones don't get double up on each side of the clear plastic or elsewhere.
Thanks.

What engine? Genuine Mikuni kit? One or two carburetors? Fuel pump or no? What did you remove, is the easiest way to know...just replace those same pieces.

The engine is a 787, single carb, genuine Mikuni kit. By fuel pump I am assuming you're referring to the check valves and clear membrane which also replaced.

What is this out of?
There was never a 787 single carb.
You do not double up any gaskets and you will have leftovers.

Hi Mikidymac, 1st sorry for misspelling your avatar, was going off memory.
You are right the engine is a 717 (not 787), and it is from a 2001 Seadoo GTI. I had the same thought process and did not double up on any gaskets, hence the left over ones. I am now waiting for the 60 psi graduated hand pump from SBT, since the original black Mikuni hand pump that I purchased originally only went up to 30 psi.
Side bar questions:
1. Is the spring on the left (original one) considered the dull silver (90 gram) as compared to the 2 that came with the kit?
2. This carb comes with the 67.5 low speed jet, how does one determine the needle valve size (1.5-2.5), where is that engraved/found?
Judging from the condition and number of gaskets I removed, I would like to go back to tuning it from starting point: seating the high and low speed adjusters and backing off as required.
Thank you!

That is a 1997 GTI, not a 2001.

The springs in the kit are wrong. If you are not sure of the original then order the correct one as they do not come in the kit.

At the end of the seat on the O-ring side the size is stamped.

Thank you, will open it up again to see the number stamped at bottom.
