Exhaust pipe discharge question

Anyone know why I have an oily sludgy substance dripping out of the exhaust pipe? I don't really know how this is possible. It's a rebuilt engine over the winter with one lake run, and several heat cycles. I have a pretty strong pre-mix in the gas, and the oil injection going.

Not sure why I'd have so much discharge. Suggestions?

Thanks!

Oily sludge

You are probably just seeing the result of heavy premix in combination with the oil injection and what ever happened to the last engine making its way out the tail pipe. Excessive, unburned oil will collect in the exhaust pipes and waterbox and can take a long time to clear out. You'll probably see a big improvement after you run out this tank of fuel and start running on no premix.

Did you set the oil pump up right?? at idle the marks should line up.

But chances are... it just needs to be burnt out.

Honda, I never did setup the oil pump, just bolted everything back together after the rebuild. Do you have a suggestion on how to do that? I'm not actually even sure where the oil pump is on this motor.

I ran it for a while yesterday, ran great. I'm assuming it would have done a pretty good job of clearing out the pipe. I'll report back.

Thanks for the comments!

you need to STOP running that boat, until you inspect the markings on that pump. Its located under the carbs. Use a mirror, wipe the pump clean to visualize the "markings". Then adjust cable accordingly. The pump arm should be "pre-loaded", so if it does not snap back, then you got it hooked up wrong.
