$20 for a part seems cheap to me... the ball joint for the trim on my XP is $32.00
a part that you KNOW will hold up... just go OEM.

I would take it in to an auto parts store and see if they have anything that matches in size and can take the heat. You would probably have to buy by the foot.
If they don't, I wouldn't mind paying the $21 to avoid the hassel of a lengthy search and to just get it on my machine and running. Since you are in NY, you probably only have a few more chances to ride this year and if you spend two weeks trying to save $10 then you may miss out on that.
And to contradict SabrToothSqrl, OEM is not always best. If yours leaks, then it didn't hold up. (How are those OEM gray fuel lines holding up for everyone?)
