The speedster 1800 with the 2x110 rotax engines is built for 7 passengers.
With only one person (driver) the topspeed would be aprox at 50 mph.
How that looks with total 5 persons?
What kind of topspeed could I reach?
Is there enough power to have real fun with this boat even if there are 5 persons in the boat?
Or is the maximum load to have fun at 3 persons reached?
The problem is perhaps in the handling and not in the topspeed with a huge load in the boat...
The weight of this boat is about 1865 lbs (848Kg).
That's about 8,4 lbs per horsepower or 3,8 Kg per horsepower.
The new Challenger 230 with the 430hp enginges (2x215) has a weight of 3500 lbs (1588 Kg).
That's about 8,1 lbs per horsepower or 3,7 Kg per horsepower.
It look's like on these figures the two boats are running very similiar.
Or has the 4-stroke engines and the new jetpumps a much better efficency?
Most time I think I would ride the boat with 2 or 4 passengers. Only for very short trips to some near islands. So the main target is not in the comfort, but it must be fun!
And I'm not sure, if the 1800 Challenger with the 2x110 rotax will be able for that......
For example a 1996 wellcraft scarab with the 454 or 350 enginge will have nearly the same fuel consumption on WOT as the two small rotax engines. And I assume, that the huge engine of the wellcraft could easier handle 4 passangers as the Challenger. But I don't know....
Thank you for any tipps and comments.
