Engine swap?

Ok, does anyone know if I can use a 2000 GTX motor in a 96 GTX? I blew my engine and have a lead on a 2000 GTX engine, but the guy does not know f its a 787/800, just that they are out of a 2000 GTX.

thoughts? suggestions?

IIRC, mine was a 951 motor in my 2000 GTX

Oh man, thanks. Was reading on line and looks like it could be a GTX RFI which uses the 787 motor, or DI that uses the bigger 951 engine. Is the 951 injected? Do you know how to read the S/N and determine the engine type?

Just reading on the specs of the 2000 GTX
Seems as though they had two models.
Limited - 947/951
RFI - 787

The only thing I know about the SN is the last two digits are the year.
