Engine stalls when I give it gas

I recently replaced the throttle cable when the bolt on the carb end of the old one broke. I went and put it in the water yesterday and it operates normally at idle. As soon as I give it enough throttle to get beyond an idle, the engine dies. I'm assuming I might not have the nuts configured to the right distance on the bolt on the carb end of the throttle cable but I didn't want to just start guessing if someone here knew the solution. Any help is appreciated!

sounds like carburation/fuel starvation,,,could be pilot too small,,,pop off way too high…micro filter blocked,,,(likely),,,fuel delivery from the fuel valve…very possible,,
