Today, starting was a little hard, but i got engine started. Took out to river, drove around a bit hopped off to pee, started back up and drove a little bit and it just died, sounding like a carburetor bog-down. Then i hear the starter clicking, wondering why the battery could be dead after a fresh charge the night before. So, i got towed in, poped spark plugs out to turn over, and still got a clicking starter, and a bad smell. Also, i was able to see some shiny gray stuff inside the hole on the front cylinder. The front cylinder's spark plug was grey speckled too, while the back cylinder was a good chocolate brown. The engine felt hot, but it's an engine and i have no clue how hot it's supposed to feel. And my buzzer randomly works. Thanks a bunch.

try to turn the engine by hand, the shiny stuff you seen could be shavings from the cylinder.......

That is what i figured it could have been. How to turn the cylinder's by hand though? it's a 97 xp 787, by the way.

should be able to remove the plugs (makes it easier to turn if it even will turn) and where the driveshaft enters the engine you should be able to grap that by hand and try to turn it, it should not be that hard to turn.

(not my engine, but same make of jetski)

No need to try and turn the engine over by hand. The gray speckles on the spark plug is melted aluminum from the piston. Pull the head off and you will see a melted piston. Time for an engine rebuild.
