Also there was a component in the charging system that was out which cost 180. 1000 bucks, dang I hope we can enjoy them now....

Well it wasn't the fuel pump. The dealer has no idea what else to do. They told me they have tried everything they know of plus everything Bombardier told them to try. They are out of options. They are convinced that it's in the fuel system so they are going to just start changing out parts until they find the one causing the problem. First part to try is the fuel pressure regulator which I believe is in the fuel distribution rail. They said after it runs for a while the fuel pressure drops which is why they went after the fuel pump. Hopefully I get a call tomorrow telling me they were successful. Can't wait to ride this thing!

I have an update guys...after several weeks in the shop and several hours of trouble shooting the final verdict is I have bad throttle bodies. The sensors were checked as well but my sensors are good. What they ended up doing was changing the entire fuel and air systems out with a known good running machine and nothing changed my problem. They did change the reeds which seemed to help but still after a few minutes of idling they it would die requiring the plugs to be pulled to get it running again. They installed known good throttle bodies and the machine idled 20 minutes with no issues. It would restart fine. The problem is new throttle bodies are 1100 bucks each. Ouch, not worth it. I took it to the lake this past weekend and it runs great but at times is hard to start. It is livable but not quit right. My plan and their recommendation is to locate some used throttle bodies on the Internet and install them. I have found a few of them on eBay which I plan on bidding on. I will let you know the results. Later guys....

That sounds really strange and now it runs better than it did before? sounds more like a leak somewhere, vacuum leak, bad gasket or crack. I would try to do a pressure test on the system if you can. I have not done it on a jet ski but I have on cars.

Other than that I would think it might be a leaking injector causing it to foul.

Ok guys, just getting to the throttle body issue. Did find a good used throttle body and have had it check by dealer. They said it checked out fine. Now just have to install it. I have no idea where to start but I'm am mechanically inclined so I'm diving in. Has anyone changed out a throttle body before? If so I could use some help. Or does anyone know of a thread that show the steps I need to follow? I looked but did not see anything on it. Thanks guys....pete

2-stroke forum. This is the forum for us 4-strokers with the 4TEC engines (which don't have "reeds" among other differences).
