Engine doesn't rev over 6500rpm in water

I have a speedster 150 215hp supercharged. The engine sounds and works fine exept it doesn't rev above 6500rpm when used in the water. When i run the engine on land, with a hose connected, it goes smoothly to 8000rpm. The boat doesn't give any error codes and nothing seems to be stuck in the water intake, so i have no clue what could be wrong with it.

Crawl under on the trailer and take a photo of the impeller up through the grate.

Always start there.

Next would be the spark plugs. If they are not new, replace them.

How fast are you going ? speed limit ? I do not think I would rev at 8k on a hose.
